The Volunteer Centre and Newcastle City Council are proud to be recruiting Newcastle Ambassadors for the 2012 Olympic Games. St James’ Park will be hosting both Men’s and Women’s football matches – Group Matches and the quarter finals.
The Ambassador roles will be based throughout the City supporting visitors to these football matches. There may also be Olympic related activities happening in the City that volunteers can engage with. Kris Hartridge has just been appointed as the Newcastle Ambassador Coordinator. Kris will coordinate The Newcastle Ambassador scheme which will be recruiting a large number of local people who are passionate about the region and the Olympic Games. This is a fantastic opportunity for local people to get involved in celebrating their City while the eyes of the world are upon us. Kris is seconded from the City Council to Voluntary Centre Newcastle and will be based at MEA House. An Ambassador is the title given to volunteers who will be representing Newcastle during the period of the Olympic Football at St James Park. The Ambassadors will play a key role in welcoming visitors to the City and will be on hand during to offer advice on how to get around, information about places to go and things to do, and promoting all that Newcastle has to offer. If you are interested in this role, and you are aged 18 or over, then please email Kris Hartridge at the Volunteer Centre, or phone him on 0191 232 6616.
