Volunteer Voice - Make a Difference Day 09

CSV Make a Difference Day is the UK's biggest annual day of volunteering!

Volunteer Centre Newcastle's Positive Choices project decided to have a day to promote wellbeing and positive mental health through volunteering. Firstly we had to select an activity that could be completed in a day by a group of volunteers that had never met before. Our chosen activity was cleaning up Lort Burn in Leazes Park and we set the date for Friday 23rd October.

Here’s what some of the Volunteers thought of the day…

“I have enjoyed preserving Leazes Park; I have met many more friends and hope to work in the park in the future.”

“I had a brilliant time.”
